Chris Rock Changed Entire Oscar Show Script To Talk White Oscars, Producer Confirms

Yesterday, ET had a chance to catch up with Academy Awards producer Reginald Hudlin to discuss this year’s Oscars following the talk of the show featuring majority white nominations. Many have been wondering if Chris Rock who is set to host the show will be taking on the issues in his opening monologue, and Hudlin went on to confirm Rock will.

Chris is hard at work. He and his writing staff locked themselves in a room,” Hudlin told ET. “As things got a little provocative and exciting, he said, ‘I’m throwing out the show I wrote and writing a new show.'””Chris is that thorough,” Hudlin added. “He’s that brilliant, and I have 1000 percent confidence that he will deliver something that people will be talking about for weeks.

The 88th Academy Awards ceremony is to take place on Feb. 28.
