One year ago today, the comedy world lost Charlie Murphy due to his battle with Leukemia. Despite being the brother of Eddie Murphy, Charlie was able to create his own lane. The Chappelle Show star was loved and appreciated by many. Before his untimely death, Charlie was touring the country on The Comedy Get Down tour.
Now, even after The Chappelle Show went off the air, Murphy maintained friends with those from the show and most notably stayed in touch with Donnell Rawlings. Today on his Instagram page, Rawlings shared his tribute about his friend with some kind words.
“A year to this date the world lost a good brother, i will always remember my brother as one of the realist to do it, his character and loyalty can’t be matched, i had so much fun working with him and being his friend, you are truly missed darkness, but you will never be forgotten, we made history, and a lot of people laugh in some of there darkest moments, so glad i got to know you and love you son. #ripcharliemurphy 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Charlie mmmmmmuuuurrppphhhyyy”
Comedy Hype spoke with Donnell Rawlings a little last year, and he would share how people should remember Charlie’s legacy.
