Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac, DL Hughley and Cedric The Entertainer, are legends in their own rights. But together, these 4 legends make up the legendary, Original Kings Of Comedy. 18 years ago, the tour swept the nation with laughter and created such an epic experience, that many other tours would attempt to mimic the tour, but none of them came close to The Original Kings of Comedy’s iconic status. A while back, a report surfaced that there was a biopic in the works on the legendary tour. In a new Comedy Hype exclusive, we caught up with one of the Original Kings Of Comedy, Steve Harvey, to discuss the possibility of a biopic for The Original Kings of Comedy.

Currently, Harvey is hosting a new season of ‘Showtime At The Apollo’ on FOX every Thursdays at 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT. According to Harvey, it appears the absence of the late Bernie Mac would prevent the project from actually happening along with other major moves for the cast of The Original Kings Of Comedy.

CH: There were talks of an original Kings of Comedy biopic floating around. Is that something that you would be interested in doing?

“It’d have to include Bernie, some kind of way. It was 10 years after we stopped touring, that Bernie passed. And we had just started talking about it; maybe doing a big reunion, but when Bernie passed, that killed it for us. None of us; Me, Ced or DL, ever wants to ever do Kings of Comedy without Bernie. That was our guy. That was our dude. Without him, it’s just not the same.”
