Alfsonso Ribeiro Admits He Stole ‘The Carlton Dance’ From Eddie Murphy In Resurfaced Video

Could this newly surfaced video of Alfsonso Ribeiro damage his recent lawsuit against Fortnite? This week, social media lit up when it was reported that Alfosno (Of Fresh Prince) was the latest celebrity to sue the makers of Fortnite for using his widely popular ‘Carlton Dance’ without crediting or compensating him. TMZ who first reported the news has now come forward with another report and this time it may hurt Ribeiro’s chances of winning his now legal battle. In a video obtained by TMZ, Ribeiro goes on to admit where the famous dance originated from, he would tell the camera that he got the dance from Courtney Cox and mainly Eddie Murphy.

The problem for Ribeiro — April 23, 2012 — the day he looked into a TMZ camera and explained how he “stole” the moves from Courteney Cox and Eddie Murphy! Alfonso says decades ago he was tasked with creating a dance for ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ — and essentially wanted his character to dance like a super white person.  So, he thought to himself, “I know exactly — I’m going to steal it!” Seriously, Alfonso walked us through how he took Cox’s moves from the Bruce Springsteen”Dancing in the Dark” video and meshed it with Eddie’s famous “White Man Dance” — and voila, Carlton Dance!
