Early this year, Aziz Ansari would find himself in the headlines after an unidentified woman would publicly call him out for what she felt was a form of sexual assault from Ansari. The woman’s allegations would receive mixed reactions from many and even some came to Ansari’s defense. Aziz would choose to stay out of the spotlight following the allegations and stayed quiet in the press. Well over the weekend, it looks that Ansari is ready to get back on stage. Page Six reports that Aziz did multiple unannounced shows last week in NYC through the weekend.
The award-winning actor and comedian performed multiple sets in NYC this past week — marking the first time he’s taken the stage since being hit with sexual misconduct allegations back in January. Ansari appeared at The Comedy Cellar in Manhattan from Wednesday to Sunday, according to Brooklyn Vegan. While he wasn’t advertised, the 35-year-old performed during the club’s Mother’s Day show and did several other surprise sets. He reportedly covered a wide range of topics — including millennials, Starbucks and racism. It’s unclear if his sexual misconduct allegations ever came up.
