Over a month ago, the new cast of ‘Barbershop 3’ wrapped filming with hopes that the project would be in theaters by February of next year. Now reports are confirming that there is a new release date set for the film in April, just in time for summer. Looks like we have to wait a little longer to see rapper Nicki Minaj’s (above with Ice Cube) comedic debut.
Shifting it away from a launch date shared with EuropaCorp’s Shut In (and a mere week before Paramount/MGM’s Ben-Hur remake), Warner Bros has announced it’s moving Barbershop 3 up into the summer release period, and in doing so has thrown a velvet glove at Universal’s feet. The comedy sequel will now hit theaters April 15 rather than February 26. Barbershop 3 will go head to head against Paramount’s Everybody Wants Some, Disney’s live-action The Jungle Book, Lionsgate’s Mechanic: Resurrection and Universal’s The Best Man’s Wedding.
Ice Cube has already teased some of the film with a behind the scenes look, check it out.
