As Bill Cosby looks to fight against several sexual assault allegations, he now has one less accuser to worry about. Back in May, actress Lili Bernard claimed Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her years ago in Atlantic City. Now with the alleged incident taking place before ‘The statue of limitations’ became a law, Cosby lawyer says he can’t be charged.
Bill Cosby will not face any rape charges in Atlantic County, according to his lawyer. Decades-old accusations by former actress Lili Bernard were “far beyond the applicable statue of limitations,” according to Edwin J. Jacobs, Jr. who was identified as Cosby’s attorney in New Jersey. “The office of the Atlantic County Prosecutor has terminated its investigation, closed its file and os notified Ms. Bernard’s lawyer,” Jacobs wrote. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
