Chris Redd will now add even more laughs to SNL as it has been announced that he has been promoted to a full cast member on the sketch comedy series. In 2017, Redd would join SNL and would go on to win a Primetime Emmy for his contribution on the show. Yesterday it was revealed that going into season 45 of the show, Redd will officially be apart of the full-time cast members.
While one featured player on Saturday Night Live got fired before he even started, another has been promoted. Chris Redd, along with Heidi Gardner, has been promoted from featured player to repertory player (aka full cast member). This means their names will be now featured in the opening credits when the show returns this Saturday. Redd and Gardner both joined in 2017. It is customary for a featured player (which is where new cast members start) to be promoted to full cast member after three years or so.
