Chris Rock’s ‘Saw’ Reboot To Premiere In Summer 2020

Chris Rock’s awaited move into horror will now happen next summer. According to Deadline, Lionsgate has decided that the upcoming ‘Saw’ reboot starring rock will hit theaters on May 15, 2020.

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have shifted the release date for the forthcoming ninth installment to the Saw film franchise from October 23, 2020, to May 15, 2020. Long-time franchise fan Chris Rock came up with the idea for the still-untitled reimaging, which is being described as “Saw on steroids.” He’ll star alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, and Marisol Nichols. Rock will play a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes and Jackson portrays Rock’s father. Minghella is William Schenk, Rock’s partner, and Nichols is Capt. Angie Garza, Rock’s boss. Jackson will play Rock’s father.
