‘Lethal Weapon’ appeared to have had some internal problems they wanted to address before returning for a new season at FOX. As noted, actor Clayne Crawford appeared to be a problem on set, so much that they have now replaced him with actor Seann William Scott. You may remember Scott’s role as Stifler in the cult classic, ‘American Pie’. According to reports, Scott will introduce a new character as Crawford’s Martin Riggs is taken out.
Fox has renewed action drama Lethal Weapon for a third season, with a new co-star. Seann William Scott, best known for playing the randy Stifler in 1999 comedy American Pie, will replace Clayne Crawford as Damon Wayans’ co-star in the series, based on the Mel Gibson-Danny Glover movie franchise about a rogue cop and his strait-laced partner. Scott will play a new character who joins forces with Wayans’ Roger Murtaugh, as Crawford’s Martin Riggs is written out. Crawford was fired from the series after what executives described as repeated instances of “emotional abuse” of cast and crew members, dating back several months, for which the actor was repeatedly reprimanded. He apologized last month on Instagram, but blamed unsafe working conditions for his outbursts.
