Every year Forbes magazine gets a hold of 10 names they research as the highest paid comedians. Like previous list, the business magazine has now revealed it’s group of comedians for 2015. Topping the list (below) came Jerry Seinfeld at number one, and following just behind Jerry was none other than Kevin Hart at the number two spot. They also included Dave Chappelle who closed out the list with a reported $7.5 Million for the year. Variety explains.
Jerry Seinfeld still reigns supreme in the land of funny people, at least in terms of financial earnings for the year. According to Forbes’ list of the world’s highest paid comedians, Seinfeld pulled in $36 million between June 1, 2014 and June 1, 2015. Hulu’s recent acquisition of the streaming rights to “Seinfeld” for $160 million certainly provided a jolt to Seinfeld’s earnings, in addition to the money he makes from standup tours and his Crackle series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” Kevin Hart came in second on the list with $28.5 million for the year. His movies, including “Think Like a Man Too,” “Get Hard,” and “The Wedding Ringer,” plus his sellout arena tour, helped propel him from fifth place, which was his position when Forbes last ranked comedians’ earnings in 2013.
