Eddie Murphy To Partner With Netflix For ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’

Eddie Murphy and Netflix look to continue their partnership. As you should know, there have been serious talks about Murphy returning for his role as Axel Foley in cult classic Beverly Hills Cop’s 4th installment. It was previously reported that Murphy planned to shoot the upcoming film following ‘Coming To America 2’ and now it appears they have landed a home for it’s release over at Netflix. Check out an excerpt from ‘Shadow And Act’ coverage, below. Do you agree with ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ getting a Netflix release?

This would continue Murphy’s new relationship with Netflix, where he stars in the Oscar buzzy flick, Dolemite Is My Name. He’s reportedly also been in talks with Netflix for stand-up specials. A new Beverly Hills Cop film has been in the works from Paramount for years and years. There was even a TV spinoff starring Murphy and Brandon T. Jackson at CBS that never got off the ground. The first film was released in 1984 and a second and third film in 1987 and 1994. According to Deadline, who exclusively broke this news, “Netflix will work with Murphy and [Jerry] Bruckheimer to get a script and director and finance the Beverly Hills Cop reboot and release it on the streaming service.” Though Paramount is letting the Beverly Hills Cop sequel go, they do have another film with Murphy coming up in 2020 with Coming 2 America.
