Friends Of The People costars are having a great year. With Lil Rel Howery on The Carmichael Show, Jermaine Fowler landing a CBS project, The Lucas Bros. , and Jennifer Bartels it’s safe to say that the series is introducing some of our future comedy stars. Most recently, two other comedian from the series have now landed their own potential series with NBC. In an upcoming project, Josh Rabinowitz (middle) & Kevin Barnett (right) are now planning to tell the story of best friends looking to get a hold of life.
Following the promising start for Jerrod Carmichael’s comedy series, which was renewed for a second season, NBC is betting on another comedy project created by and top lined by rising New York comedians. The network has put in development a single-camera comedy from Josh Rabinowitz and Kevin Barnett, executive producers, head writers, and cast members of Tru TV’s sketch series Friends of the People, which recently wrapped its second season. Written by Rabinowitz and Barnett, the project is described as an odd couple story of two best friends (Rabinowitz, Barnett) who’ve worked hard their entire lives to reach the careers they’ve always wanted, and then realize everything sucks and they hate it. So they quit their jobs to figure out what they really want and care about. It’s the classic story about the 50 year-old white woman giving up the American dream to discover herself in another country, but about two dudes in their 20s who move nowhere.
