So now following the news, the network has officially moved forward with bringing Marlon’s life to TV. Today NBC announced that they have picked up ‘Marlon’ along with a new project from Tina Fey.

NBC has handed out two more comedy series orders to shows from its own studio: the multi-camera family sitcom Marlon, starring Marlon Wayans, and the Tracy Wigfield single-camera project — now called Great News — which is executive produced by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. The mother-daughter workplace comedy is toplined by Briga Heelan and Andrea Martin. Marlon and Great News join recently picked up single-camera series Powerless and Trial & Error, both from Warner Bros. TV…. Loosely inspired by the real life of star Marlon Wayans, this update to the classic family comedy centers on a loving Marlon – Season Pilot(but immature) father committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. While his misguided fatherly advice, unstoppable larger-than-life personality and unpredictable Internet superstardom might get in the way sometimes, for Marlon family really always does come first — even if he’s the biggest kid of all. The cast includes Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins, Notlim Taylor, Amir O’Neil, Bresha Webb and Diallo Riddle
