It’s been years since we’ve officially seen Jamie Foxx on the comedy stage. The award winning actor and singer once put his focus into making people laugh as a stand-up comedian. In recent years, Foxx has conquered other parts of Hollywood but now it appears that he’s ready to get back to telling jokes. Today, BET has announced that Foxx will serve as their host for the 2018 BET Awards set for June 24th from Los Angeles. As you should know that being a host of awards show like this, Foxx’s main responsibility will be providing jokes throughout the night. Foxx hosted the event back in 2009. It is also noted that Jamie is expected to kick off his long awaited comedy tour this Summer.

When actor/musician/comedian Jamie Foxx walks onto the Microsoft Theater stage in Los Angeles on June 24, it will mark the Academy Award and Grammy Award winner’s second time as host of the BET Awards. Foxx, host and executive producer of the interactive game show Beat Shazam, first helmed the BET Awards in 2009. That’s when the ceremony doubled as an all-star tribute to Michael Jackson, who had died unexpectedly several days earlier. Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones hosted last year’s show, which featured memorable performances from Bruno Mars, Mary J. Blige, Migos and lifetime achievement honorees New Edition.
