In 2016 we will see a more animated version of Kevin Hart. It was recently announced that he along with fellow comedian Louis C.K. will appear in a 3-D animated film about pets.
Comedians Louis C.K. and Kevin Hart are having banner years in their careers, as both have recently been parts of big hit movies and have several interesting projects in the pipeline. Now the two are teaming up with Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet for the next animated feature from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment, the currently-dubbed Untitled Pets Movie, which already has a release date set for February 12, 2016. The bound-to-be-3D film will be directed by Chris Renaud, who co-directed the studios’ Despicable Me and its sequel, which earned a combined $1.4 billion at the box office. Creating even more Despicable connections, the studios have also tapped screenwriters Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul to pen the screenplay (they were also the scribes behind the $348 million-earning hit The Lorax). According to Deadline, C.K. will play a smarty pants terrier living in a Manhattan apartment building. When his pampering owners are away for the day, he joins up with all of the other pets from the building to hang out and talk smack about all the humans. The terrier is devastated when his master brings home a sloppy mutt (Stonestreet), and it gets even worse when the two hit the streets and stumble upon the a cute little bunny rabbit (Hart) and his nefarious plot to lead his army of abandoned pets on a revenge attack against humanity. The dogs then have to figure out a way to defeat the rabbit before his plan can be implemented. Below is the first shot of what these characters will look like.
