Mississippi’s Comedian JJ Williamson Explains How He Turned Rap Classic ‘Sho Nuff’ By Tela Into A Popular Joke

Mississippi is known for its country lifestyle but comedian JJ Williamson is showing that the state can produce some top-tier comedy talent. On January 26th the veteran comedian will release his latest comedy album, J.J. Williamson Live From The Atlanta Comedy Theater following his newest comedy special on the LOL Network. The project features 12 separate tracks for fans to listen to 42 minutes of stand-up comedy.

For anyone who’s seen JJ live you should be familiar with one of his opening songs, ‘Sho Nuff’ by rapper Tela feat. 8Ball & MJG. JJ not only takes his fans back to a golden era of Hip-Hop with the song but he has even turned it into one of his most popular jokes. In a recent talk with Comedy Hype, we find out how the joke originated and that he actually met everyone involved in producing the classic rap song. It turns out that JJ’s Tela joke came together by accident during a performance in Atlanta. The joke itself is well crafted and shows how important it is for comedians to use details on stage because the audience clearly pays attention.
