It was previously shared that comedian Nicole Byer landed a pilot deal with MTV, back in September. Now today, the network has revealed they will move forward with the project as a series.
MTV today announced moves to beef up its lineup of women-driven comedies, greenlighting an untitled vehicle for comedienne Nicole Byer of “Girl Code.” In the series, Nicole Byer portrays a young adult who is forced to move in with her sister and four kids in the suburbs after causing a fire in her New York City apartment. Aunt Nicole will offer her own brand of advice to her sister’s kids while trying to get her life back on track. Joining Byer in the series are Kimrie Lewis-Davis, who will play the older sister (Sarah) who has four kids, and Rachel Hilson, who will play Emily, the oldest of Sarah’s children, already well aware of the power of her considerable charms, and not afraid to flaunt what she’s got.
