People Defend Cosby Actor Geoffrey Owens For Working At Grocery Store

A viral image has started to circulate of actor Geoffrey Owens appearing to have stepped away from the lights of Hollywood. According to reports, Geoffrey who is most recognized for his work on The Cosby Show was spotted working at a local Trader Joes grocery in New Jersey. The picture which clearly appears to be the now 57-year-old actor was shared on outlets like Fox News who decided to report Owens misfortune instead of spinning it into a positive angle. Fox News’s decision on their coverage angle has bothered many and quite a few people have now taken to social media to defend Owens. The stance many have made is that Owens’s decision to work an honest job should never be shamed.

A number of celebrities and entertainment insiders jumped to Geoffrey Owens’ defense after the Daily Mail and Fox News reported that the Cosby Show alum now works at a Trader Joe’s in New Jersey. A shopper had snapped pictures of him bagging groceries. Owens played Elvin Tibideaux on The Cosby Show from 1985 to 1992. He has since appeared on a number of shows, including Divorce, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Built to Last. Some people wrote about their own experiences finding work outside of the business.
