Back in March it was announced that Justin Hires (above) was to take the lead of CBS Rush Hour pilot as Detective Carter alongside actor Jon Foo. Today, THR revealed that CBS will move forward with Rush Hour as an actual series.
Rush Hour, meanwhile, is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is based on the New Line feature film trilogy of the same name. The series revolves around a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer (Jon Foo) who is assigned to a case in Los Angeles, where he’s forced to work with a cocky African-American LAPD officer (Justin Hires, 21 Jump Street) who has no interest in a partner.
Justin messaged fans to confirm the new series via Facebook.
“It brings me GREAT joy to announce that RUSH HOUR got picked up and will be on @CBS this fall!! Detective Carter is here!! S/O to our incredible cast and crew. Thank you to EVERYONE that prayed, supported, and wished me well- not only during this process, but throughout my journey in Hollywood so far. This is just the beginning, the best is yet to come! GOD IS GOOD!!!!!! ”
Lee & Carter are back.
