‘Saturday Night Live’ Announces Ego Nwodim As Newest Cast Member

Lorne Michaels and his team at ‘Saturday Night Live’ have now revealed that when the show returns for Season 44 on Sept. 29th, they will be joined by several new faces. Most notably, SNL has added newcomer Ego Nwodim as a featured player to the cast. The Los Angeles’ UCB Theatre cast member has been building her name on the circuit in recent years. SNL has also added a few writers to their team that includes Alan Linic, Alison Gates, Eli Mandel and Bowen Yang.

NBC’s Saturday Night Live is bolstering its writing staff for its upcoming 44th season. The Lorne Michaels-produced late-night sketch comedy has enlisted Ego Nwodim as a new featured player, while also bolstering its writing staff with four new scribes. For her part, Nwodim holds a degree in biology from USC and has been a regular castmember at Los Angeles’ UCB Theatre, where she performed her one-woman show “Great Black Women … and Then There’s Me” (her first one-woman show). From Baltimore, she was featured in the 2016 JFL New Faces Characters showcase and the 2016 CBS Diversity Showcase.
