Seth Meyers Announced To Host The 2018 Golden Globe Awards, Tiffany Haddish Was Reportedly Approached To Host

The Golden Globes will now have a new face to host their upcoming night of awards. Seth Meyers has been named as the show’s 2018 host. The hosting announcement follows after Jimmy Kimmel’s hosting job ealrier this year.

According to reports, Tiffany Haddish, Ellen DeGeneres Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were all approached to host this year’s show.

The Golden Globes have a new golden host! Seth Meyers is set to host the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards in January 2018. The comedian and Late Night host takes over hosting duties from pal Jimmy Fallon after the Tonight Show host headed the show in 2017. “The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards,” HFPA president Meher Tatna said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly. “With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year.” Meyers follows in the footsteps of a few former Saturday Night Live alumni: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey also hosted the 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions of the annual telecast. He also previously hosted the 2014 Emmy Awards.
