Kevin Hart is set to add a new title to his name. As a way to further tell his story, Kevin will be venturing into publishing his first book. For his upcoming book, “From The Hart”, he will further explain his life coming up in Philadelphia, and more when the new book is released next year.
Like most comedians, Kevin Hart takes a confessional tone in his stand-up. He has made intimate and often uncomfortable jokes about his father’s cocaine addiction, his mother’s death from cancer, his marriage and divorce, and his experience being a parent. Writing a memoir, then, isn’t too much of a leap. Next year, Mr. Hart will publish his memoir, “From the Hart,” with 37 Ink, an Atria Publishing Group imprint. The book will explore Mr. Hart’s childhood in Philadelphia with a drug-addicted father, and the struggles he faced when he first tried to break into stand-up. Mr. Hart is the latest comedian to land a book deal in what has become a pitched battle among publishers for memoirs and autobiographies from prominent comics, following blockbuster sales for books by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Mindy Kaling, among others. This summer, Gallery Books will publish Amy Schumer’s memoir, “The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo,” and Ecco will release Tig Notaro’s memoir “I’m Just a Person.” Dawn Davis, the vice president and publisher of 37 Ink, acquired world rights to Mr. Hart’s book, which is scheduled to be published on Father’s Day in 2017. Audible acquired rights to the audiobook, which Mr. Hart will narrate.
The Daily Show host Trevor Noah is putting author title under his name by writing a book. The book will be about his childhood and upbringing during the apartheid in his mother country South Africa. The book deal is reportedly worth $3 million, and is set to come out in November. The funny comic is smiling all the way to the bank and it’s fair to say Trevor is part of comedy cash kings.
The comedian-turned-Daily Show host has just announced that he is publishing a book of personal essays detailing his childhood in South Africa as well as other pivotal moments during his life, reports Vulture.“I couldn’t find a good book about myself, so I decided to write one,” Noah said in a statement (fair ‘nuff!). “And just like me, this book doesn’t have an appendix.” The untitled book, which will be published by Spiegel & Grau, will hit bookshelves next November.
Bill Bellamy may soon be adding author to his list of credits. Earlier last week the veteran comedian shared plans for a possible book on North Carolina’s Magic 106.9. While speaking on upcoming projects, he went on to share the idea of writing a ‘How To Be A Player’ book based on his 90’s popular comedy as well as one on his life.
I went from obscuirty to like partying with Whitney and Bobby, Mariah Carey, Mike Tyson, and interviewing Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson…and flying around the world. It was just crazy to me…that’s one book.. My other book would be How To Be A Player, like how to learn the game, I think theres a lot of dudes who want to be players but they don’t know the game, I need to show them the game… Break the game down from a bird’s eye view…
Bill’s next films will find him on screen for the sequel of Kindergarten Cop, Bounce Back, and a new special. Take notes.
