Here’s The First Look Of Marlon Wayans In Netflix’s NAKED

As reported, Marlon Wayans was hard at work last year as he teamed up with Netflix for an original comedy, entitled Naked. The comedy which is now gearing up for it’s release also stars comedic actress Regina Hall. In Naked Marlon plays Rob Anderson; as described man-child who needs a good lesson on growing up. Only thing is the lesson he may needed comes just before his wedding. The film is set to premiere on August 11.

When Rob Anderson (Marlon Wayans), a charming man-child, arrives in Charleston the night before he is about to marry the woman of every man’s dreams, Megan Swope (Regina Hall), he hasn’t written his vows, learned the steps for the first dance, or even remembered to bring the ring. Instead of taking care of his responsibilities, Rob goes out for a night on the town with his best man (Jonathan Todd Jackson). Then something unexpected happens… Rob wakes up naked in an elevator with no idea how he got there. When the elevator doors open Rob is shocked to find that it’s late in the morning and he has only one hour to get to the church or miss his own wedding. He tries desperately to get to the chapel, streaking through a city marathon, stealing clothes, avoiding capture by local police, a near death confrontation with a vicious motorcycle gang, and many other obstacles only to find himself waking up in the elevator again and again. Some unknown force has conspired to make Rob live this hour repeatedly until he finally grows up and becomes the man that his amazing fiancée deserves to marry.

80’s Comedy ‘Hollywood Shuffle’ Is Being Remade By U.K. Artist Dean Blunt

By Dan Soff, UK

English musician is in L.A. recreating 1987’s classic movie “Hollywood Shuffle”.  The film, celebrating its 30th anniversary next year, was produced, directed, and co-written by Robert Townsend. In an interview with NPR, Blunt stated:

I’m doing a re-make of Hollywood Shuffle. I’m making it myself, so I’m out here.” Blunt explains, “Hollywood Shuffle is an old film they made. I think it’s an 80’s film. I don’t know who it’s by… It’s like one of the first satirical movies I’ve seen. Black satirical comedies.” “And it’s when Eddie Myrphy was a stereotype actor for black acting in America. And this film is a parody of that. Everyone is cast as Eddie Murphy. It’s a pretty funny film.” “I can’t afford the original actors, so I’ve found lookalikes of each. And yeah it costs just enough.”

The original Hollywood Shuffle casts features comedy greats such as John Witherspoon and Paul Mooney. Blunt’s struggle to finance the remake is reminiscent of Robert Townsend’s struggle to find the original. Townsend self-financed the project with his own credit cards on a budget of $100,000. The film co-written by Keenan Ivory Wayans went on to gross over $5 million, becoming a box office smash and winning the 1987 Deauville Film Festival’s ‘Grand Special Prize’ critics award.

Grazer made the disclosure in an interview with Bloomberg at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit in San Francisco on Tuesday. “… I’m going to do a movie with Netflix.” He added, “I’m going to do a tour-de-force movie that’s cinéma vérité with Eddie Murphy being as raw as he can be.
