In the latest surrounding ABC’s decision to cancel ‘Roseanne’, star of the show Roseanne Barr has now gone on to reveal that she begged Disney-ABC Television Group President, Ben Sherwood, to not move forward with the cancelation of her series. Barr would express that she decided to take action in hopes to save people’s jobs who were affected from the show being pulled after a reported racist tweet. As we all would find out, ABC would decide to cancel the series anyway. It is also noted by other reports that fortunately Barr’s castmates on the show will still receive compensation for some several expected new episodes, but it does appear that the same can’t be said about those on the crew who help produce the series.
Anyway, we’ve reached out to ABC to ask about Barr’s claims of having had this alleged conversation with Sherwood, in which she claims he asked her what she was thinking of, and she said she did not realize Jarrett is not white because “she looks like my family.” And, Barr claims, Sherwood told her what she did was unforgivable, as she begged for the sake of her crew’s jobs. Her tweets on that subject end with her wondering if she will ever recover from this situation which, to recap, started with her posting another racist tweet. “They won’t stop till I die, I fear – pray for me!” she tweeted to her followers. In an afternoon of self pitying tweets, Barr today also said it had been a “joyous experience” to work on the Roseanne show again but “not the right time,” and that “going out on top is good!”
One voice that might be interesting to hear discuss the Roseanne Barr scandal could very well be Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel who serves as the host of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ has been on the same network of Barr’s show for years. Last night, Kimmel would go on to directly address his company’s decision to cancel Barr’s series yesterday. In his opening monologue, the late-night host would go on to down Barr’s tweet and would end up proposing that ABC should give Dan Conner (Roseanne’s husband) his own series as a Roseanne replacement.

In a recent conversation with Politico, Kathy Griffin reflected on her clash with Donald Trump over a controversial picture from earlier this year. Griffin’s career came to a stretching halt when the picture became a viral topic. For those unaware, Griffin took a picture of herself carrying a fake bloody-head of Trump. Since then, Griffin has figured out different ways to keep her career going after the backlash. She would go on to share that she would love to begin touring in the U.S. again but fears she would be shot.
While she has been shunned at home — even Chelsea Clinton joined in the chorus of people claiming to be horrified by a photo they said crossed a line — she has found a welcoming audience abroad. “They were thrilled to have someone come over and make fun of Trump,” said Griffin, who just completed a 15-country world tour. “I wish I could tour in the U.S. without getting shot — I know I can’t. I was in the middle of a 50-city tour when the tweet happened. It was canceled in 24 hours.” Griffin, sounding upbeat, said she’s soldiering on. “My answer is to keep producing funny stuff,” she said. “My YouTube is lit. I really do have a real story to tell. In my live act, I talk about the interrogation with the feds and how everybody turned on me on every platform. I still can’t tweet a picture of my new puppies without getting all hateful responses in broken English.”
