Tiffany Haddish is now venturing into the world of animation as it was revealed today that she will star in the upcoming Netflix animation, ‘Tuca And Bertie’. In the project, Tiffany is set to play a carefree Toucan who lives in an apartment building shared by a songbird (Bertie). Haddish’s co-star for the project has yet to be announced.

From the team behind BoJack Horseman, the animated comedy revolves around the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca (Haddish), a cocky-care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, day-dreaming songbird. (Bertie has not yet been cast.) Lisa Hanawalt (BoJack) created the series and exec produces alongside Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack), Noel Bright (BoJack, Friends), Steven A. Cohen (BoJack, Jack & Bobby) and Haddish. The series hails from Michael Eisner’s Tornante Co. Animation will be done by Shadowmachine. Tuca and Bertie joins an animated roster at Netflix that includes BoJack, F is for Family, Castlevania and Big Mouth. Sources say animation is the next area that Netflix will focus on expanding.
