Last night, Jon Stewart closed out his 16 year run as the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. To help celebrate his last show, several previous guest and correspondents returned to wish him a smooth farewell. Comedian Wyatt Cenac, who was a previous correspondent on the show returned as well. It was previously revealed by Wyatt that he and Jon had some what of a falling out over a Herman Cain impression. Wyatt went on to talk about the incident with Marc Maron on a recent episode of the WTF podcast, noted by USA Today.
[Stewart] got incredibly defensive. I remember he was like, What are you trying to say? There’s a tone in your voice … And then he got upset. And he stood up and he was just like, “(Expletive) off. I’m done with you.” And he just started screaming that to me. And he screamed it a few times. “(Expletive) off! I’m done with you.” And he stormed out. And I didn’t know if I had been fired. I represent my people, and I try to represent them the best that I can. I gotta be honest if something seems questionable, because if not, then I don’t want to be in a position where I am being untrue not just to myself but to my culture, because that’s exploitative.
So as several people made their final appearance with Jon on the finale, Wyatt surprisingly did the same (at 3:20). Taking the approach of his previous correspondent role, Wyatt returned showing that things between him and Jon are on good terms.
